MARKET HIGHS AND LOWS
M
ost GREENS are moderately priced and staying steady.  Look for small increases in BROCCOLI and CAULIFLOWER.

VEGETABLES
The spring-summer vegetable season is generally characterized by a migration from Mexico to California.  Many varieties of summer squash, such as BABY GOLD SUMMER, BABY GREEN ZUCCHINI, BABY SUNBURST and BABY SUMMER are now arriving from local desert growing regions.  Many hard shell offerings, generally popular in the fall and winter are still available, including ACORN, KABOCHA and SPAGHETTI to name a few.  Beans and peas are also a seasonal favorite.  Current supplies include YELLOW WAX, PURPLE, ROUND GREEN, BLUELAKE, FRENCH and SEABEANS and FAVA, SUGAR SNAP and SNAP PEAS.

CARROTS, crisp and refreshing are often a summer vegetable favorite.  Along with the traditional ORANGE variety, there is also BABY ORANGE, WHITE, MAROON, ROUND and YELLOW as well as vacuum packaged PEELED BABY CARROTS.
Other vegetables currently in supply include OKRA and RHUBARB.

STONE FRUIT UPDATE
Most of our early summer stone fruit selection is now available.  WHITE and YELLOW PEACHES, WHITE and YELLOW NECTARINES and APRICOTS are all readily available.  California CHERRY offerings continue to improve with BINGS and RANIERS arriving daily.  RED BEAUT and BLACK BEAUT PLUMS are also now in supply.  As the season progresses, look for PLUMCOTS, APRIUMS and PLUOTS (which generally arrive around August).  All three of these are actually a combination of both a plum and an apricot—a plumcot is 50% plum, 50% apricot, an aprium is 30% plum, 70% apricot and a pluot is 70% plum, 30% apricot.

GRAPES
The local growing season has started to kick in producing some good quality offerings at reasonable prices.  Look for FLAME SEEDLESS, PERLETTES, THOMPSON SEEDLESS, WHITE SEEDLESS, BLACK SEEDLESS and RED GLOBES.
